Clerk to the Town Council
The legal task of Clerk to the city council consists of the assistance of the city council and the council committees in the performance of their tasks. The Clerk to the city council is present during meetings of the council and all decisions and formal papers that the city council sends out, are also signed by the Clerk to the city council.
The nature of the tasks of the Clerk to the city council can vary per municipality. They depend on the priorities that a city council lays down in reference to these tasks. Roughly the tasks can be seperated in three parts:
- 1. Secretarial assistance
- 2. Procedural assistance and
- 3. Assistance as regards content.
The municipality of Wassenaar has decided to appoint H. Stradmeijer. She performs all above mentioned tasks and assists the town council. This organ, that consists of the Mayor as chairman and the chairmen of the political parties of the city council, sets, among other things, the agenda of the meeting of the city council
