Leaving the Netherlands (Deregistration)
When leaving the Netherlands to live abroad, you must report this to the municipality no later than five days prior to your departure. This is possible by mail or in person. After deregistration you will receive official proof of your deregistration. You may need this to terminate services such as the telephone or insurance coverage. One adult member of the family may deregister the entire family.
In writing
You may submit a letter which contains your current address, future address, personal details for you and other family members, date of departure and copy of valid identification for the applicant. The official proof of your deregistration will be sent by mail to your address unless you specify a forwarding address.
You can send your letter to:
Gemeente Wassenaar, Burgerzaken
