Certificate of Good Behaviour (VOG)
If you apply for a job, for example involving confidential data or vulnerable persons, your employer may request a Certificate of Good Behaviour (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag/VOG). Examples of request for the certificate are:
- Employers such as teachers and taxi drivers will often require a certificate by law
- If you wish to join a club or association
- When requesting a visa or residence permit
Request procedure
You may only apply for a VOG for yourself. The Minister of Justice decides whether or not such a certificate will be issued. He issues the certificate if an investigation shows that the applicant has no criminal record relevant to the performance of the position for which the VOG has been requested. You can request a certificate at the Civic desk (Burgerzaken) in the Municipal Office building.
What should you bring?
Don’t forget to bring your filled out form and one of the following documents;
- Request from you employer
- Request by your club
- Request by the authority

It will take two to four weeks
Location
You can request a cerfificate at the Civic desk (Burgerzaken) in the Johan de Wittstraat 45.
Result
You will receive a 'Certificate of Good Behaviour'.
