At the Care counter, information and advice is given regarding care in general and if necessary you can register and apply for various specific services. Click on the infomaat.
These specific services are:
Homecare
Homecare is for patients or handicapped persons staying at home. This type of care can vary from a weekly cleaning service to intensive 24 hour nursing. As of 1 January 2007 the less intensive care comes under the Social support Act (WMO). For queries on these subjects contact the Care counter.
Meals on wheels
If the daily routine of preparing dinner is becoming increasingly difficult, diner can be delivered to your home. There are also centres for the elderly where you can enjoy dinner in a cosy atmosphere. The price is reasonable, in case of an “indication dinner provision” you can get a discount. Ask the Care counter.
Housekeeping Aid
Housekeeping aid is the new name for what was formerly called “domestic support”. It used to be part of the Algemene Wet Bijzondere Ziektekosten (AWBZ). As from 1 January 2007 this care comes under the Social Support Act (WMO).This means that the municipality is currently responsible for this provision. So in case you cannot do the housekeeping yourself and need help, you can apply for housekeeping aid at the Care counter.
Provisions for handicapped persons
There are various provisions to alleviate the burden of handicapped persons: adapting the home, a wheelchair, an adapted scooter etc. The municipality supplies these provisions for those in need. If you want to know whether you are entitled to these provisions or you have any other questions, contact the Care counter.
Personal budget (Pgb)
Anyone who can claim support on account of age or illness can choose between support in kind or a certain amount of money enabling you to remain self sufficient. The amount of money is called a Personal budget (Pgb). The advantage of a Pgb is that you are independent and can decide whom to hire and under which conditions. An additional advantage is that you can also hire an acquaintance or relative. But there are disadvantages. On the down side you must keep accurate accounts. However, you can be helped with the bookkeeping. At the Care counter they know all the in’s and out’s.
